Leisure and Recreation Activities
Inclusive recreation and leisure opportunities for children, youth and adults with disabilities are usually found in municipal/city programs.There are varying degrees of support within these programs and varying degrees of expertise available among staff and volunteers in these facilities. Services may include:
- Leisure planning
- Volunteer assistance to help a person take part in an activity
- Training and education of recreation facility and parks staff
- Referrals and assistance in overcoming barriers to participation
- Free or reduced price passes to volunteers assisting a person with a disability
